Copenhagen, 1984. Ronni is a young, mediocre punk guitarist determined to make it in the death-obsessed late-punk scene. However, his girlfriend has left him, his bandmates are fed up with his incompetence and insecurity, he has stomach problems, his doctor wants to sexually abuse him, and the band's former manager is demanding money. Things hit rock bottom when Ronni collapses on stage during a crucial concert—but it turns out this is his ticket to glory, as he claims to be terminally ill.
