"The essence of rock is self-expression, self-realization, doing what you want to do. The punk rock era helped me find myself. When it started and everyone grabbed a guitar, I wanted to grab something too, but the stage was full, so I grabbed a Super 8 camera and became a filmmaker." - Don Letts -

PUNKSTERS & YOUNGSTERS is a feature documentary that examines punk as both a musical and social movement. It contrasts the rebellious spirit of the 70s with today's youth, showcasing the enduring and evolving nature of punk. This is a film about two youths: the generation of the 1970s and that of today. When legends like Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy, the grandfather of Finnish Punk Pelle Miljoona, and today’s megastars Eppu Normaali started their careers, they were insecure kids who could barely play. They were even younger than the modern bands featured, like Akupunktio and the energetic girl band Creepy Crawlie. The encounter between these two generations is at times painful, often funny, and always full of humor. The DIY attitude of punk connects them, from music and lifestyle to anarchy, squatting, and demonstrations.
