On October 12, 1978, the NYPD found the body of a 20-year-old girl in a hotel bathroom. The girl, Nancy Spungen, had bled to death from a single stab wound. Nancy was a prostitute, occasional stripper, heroin addict, and girlfriend of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious. The case was pinned on Sid, who died of a heroin overdose six months later, leaving the truth of that night forever unknown. Alan G. Parker's film attempts to uncover what really happened on that fateful night.
